Why Godspeed Studio?
We are bringing a new option with Godspeed Studio. When developers worked in VS Code, searching for documentation was a challenge, which increased the learning curve. Additionally, onboarding new developers often amplified these hurdles. Therefore, the primary reason for building the studio is to reduce onboarding hurdles and make it much easier for developers to learn about Godspeed-Meta Framework.
Second, contextual help. Whatever you're working on, you’ll have on-the-spot access to documentation, tutorials, and videos directly within the Godspeed studio. But that’s not all—AI assistants are part of the plan! These assistants will provide real-time guidance, code suggestions, and troubleshooting support, making your development experience smoother and more intuitive as they roll out in future updates.
Third, the developer experience needed improvement. Developers faced challenges when installing plugins through the CLI and setting up APIs. These tasks were often cumbersome, especially for young developers who are still learning. To address this, all these processes have been integrated into the studio, making it much easier to perform these tasks seamlessly.
Fourth, developers often faced errors while working directly in VS Code and writing YAML configurations without adequate assistance. To minimize these errors, the studio consolidates all configurations and assistant features into one place, offering a more seamless and error-reducing workflow.
Following this, we attempted to integrate assistant features into VS Code, but the language server and ecosystem limitations posed significant challenges. These constraints made it difficult to deliver a fully optimized and creative developer experience.
By transitioning to a dedicated UI, the studio overcomes these limitations, allowing for the design of a streamlined and intuitive developer experience. This creative freedom ensures a smoother workflow and enhances overall productivity.
In addition, moving to the UI doesn’t mean we are strictly low-code. You can still work in VS Code, and even within the UI, you can edit TypeScript, YAML files, and the entire project directly in code. This ensures that Godspeed Studio provides the best of both worlds: a flexible coding experience and an efficient low-code UI.
